W Zachodniej Syberii zasiedla równinną i górską tajgę, strefę lasostepów, pozostałości lasów na terenach przechodzących w step w południowym Ałtaju i pograniczne rejony Tuwy. Centrum zasiedlenia Sorex minutissimus w zachodniej Syberii jest Ałtaj.
