According to the number of cornified cells, epithelial cells and leucocytes in vaginal smears the stages of the estrus cycle were determined. Estrus was typified by a vaginal smears which contains cornified cells and no leucocytes and is accompanied by vaginal perforation.The data were obtained during spring (May-June), summer (July-September) and autumn-winter (October-February).
