Abstract:

First stage larve of ovoviviparous tenebrionid beetles (melanocratoid Platynotina, Platynotini) from Madagascar are described and illustrated: Sebastianus simplex Iwan, S. projectus Iwan, Styphacus bartolozzi Iwan, S. kochi Iwan, Melanocratus ferreri Iwan. Viviparityin beetles (Carabidae, Chrysomelidae, Micromalthidae, Staphylinidae and Tenebrionidae) is discussed.
