Abstract:

The content of total phosphorus and total nitrogen in the near-bottom water layer was found to increase with the rising trophic state of dimictic lakes. The content of total organic and mineral phosphorus, organic nitrogen and organic matter in the sediments was highest in dimictic lakes of the lowest and highest trophic states. In polymictic lakes, the content of total phosphorus and total nitrogen in the water, and the content of total, mineral and organic phosphorus as well as of organic matter in the sediments increased with the rising trophic state of the lakes.
