For this purpose, two descriptionsof city walls of the late medieval Italian city have been compared. The first describes thecity walls of Florence, and originates from Giovanni Villani’s Nuova Cronica; the secondpertains to the fortifications of Milan, and originates from the much less known Cronicaextravagans by Galvano Fiamma. Both authors used data from measurements and knowledgeof the principles of geometry to illustrate the splendour of their respective cities andto help readers visualize them.}, type={Text}, title={Measuring and Shaping the Late Medieval City: Mathematical Descriptions of City Walls in Florence and Milan}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl/ihpan/Content/82266/PDF/WA303_107191_A52-KH-126-EE-3_Pomierny-Wasinska.pdf}, volume={126}, number={Eng.-Lang.
