Search for: [Abstract = "The German researcher Birgit Glorius \(2007\) identified three so\-called indicators of transnationalism which together create an overall picture of this phenomenon\: trans\-mobility, trans\-culturalism and trans\-identity. This paper discusses the first of those in the context of Polish migrants currently living in Berlin. As it turns out, trans\- mobility is one of the key elements affecting the lifestyles of Poles living in Germany. For young generation of Poles, unrestricted travel across the border, the use of mobile phones and the Internet are a natural phenomenon, a part of their everyday life. However, in the case of immigrants from the ‘80s and ‘90s these aspects have a significant impact on the process of transforming their lifestyles from immigrant to transnational ones. Thinking that their future would definitely be associated with Germany, these immigrants have already integrated with the foreign culture and they have been influenced by acculturation. Meanwhile, the opening of the borders has created, once again, an opportunity to revive their contacts with Poland, both in the social and cultural aspects. Immigrants from the ‘90s began to come to Poland more frequently, not just to visit their relatives, but also because of travel, work, education etc. Telephone and e\-mail contacts with relatives and friends have been activated"]
