Carpological reference collection

The reference collection of contemporary vascular plants is widely used in palaeobotanical studies and incorporates particular collections of: fruits and seeds (i.e. carpological collection, approx. 27 thousand objects), palynological microscopic slides (approx. 20 thousand, creating a specific pollen/spore herbarium), leaves (approx. 5 thousand sheets), cuticle (approx. 600 preparations; a collection type rarely found in scientific institutions), wood (samples of 250 species of trees and shrubs and approx. 380 anatomical preparations), and peat (approx. 280 tissue preparations and approx. 310 peat units preparations).
