The effect of nitrogen sources, lipid concentration and pH value on the yeast growth and biomass yield was also investigated. Yarrowialipolytica ATCC 8661 was the best strain for SCP production on both lipid substrates. Thespecific growth rate and biomass yield were p = 0,19-0,35 h'^ and Yx/s = 0,68- 1,07 respectively, depending on the culture condition.
