 abstract={The observation of seasonal natural phenomena and the resulting traditional methods of weather forecasting, perceived as components of decision-making processes related to the planning of land cultivation activities and the development of strategies for adaptation to environmental changes, fall within the scope of ethnoclimatology and the anthropology of weather and climate. When applied to research on heritage and folklore, these perspectives increase their contribution to anthropological discourse on climate (theoretical aspect) and mitigation activities (practical aspect). The aim of this article is: 1) to present the assumptions of selected ethno- and anthropological research perspectives related to weather and climate, 2) to discuss the origin and meaning of Polish proverbs and weather forecasts, and 3) to reflect on the possible direction of Polish ethnoclimatological research. The considerations are based on literature review and empirical material from field research conducted in 2022–2023 in seven locations related to the practice of intangible cultural heritage in Poland.},
