It refers to the problem of disaggregation of national greenhouse gas emissions into fine spatial grid, given emission maps, typically produced from information on spatially explicit activities contributing to emissions, multiplied by emission factors. A linear model with spatial random effects is proposed and applied to the N20 emission assessments for municipalities in southern Norway, with known covariate information for each region.
