 abstract={Incorporation of algebraic eddy viscosity models in numerical schemes is considered, and problems arising from typical mixing length models are discussed. An explicit model for two-dimensional duct flow is derived, and the model is compared with existing models. The computed velocity profiles for fully developed flow correspond favourably with experimental results.},
