 abstract={A 50-year-old patient with suspected myopathy was examined. A biopsy of quadriceps sinister was performed. Electronmicroscopy analysis revealed the presence of fat droplets within the muscle fibers (Fig. 1,2,3). Altered mitochondria characterized by light mitochondrial matrix and devoid of cristae were observed (Fig.4). A defect of mitochondrial enzymes was suspected. Biochemical examination of carnitine palmitoyltransferase was performed and the result was 6,73 nM/mgB/min. (Norm 6,5-18 nM/mgB/min.)},
