 abstract={Zbigniew Herbert was one of the most outstanding Polish poets of the twentieth century. The article presents an analysis of three monographs devoted to him, written by Joanna Siedlecka, Andrzej Franaszek, and Rafał Żebrowski. The editions of his correspondence and memories of the poet are taken into consideration. Differences in the depiction of Herbert’s biography are shown against the background of disputes about the recent history.},
