This phenomenon has been detected in representatives.ofdifferent genus. The yeasts are immune to their own killer protein. In cooperation with nuclear genes thekiller factor is brought about by virus-like particles occuring in yeast cytoplasm. The killer protein is boundto the cell wall receptors of a sensitive strain and then it kills the cell by changing the permeability of themembranes. In addition to the studies on the killer protein properties, its possible utilization is being investigated.}, type={Text}, title={The killer factor in yeasts}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl/Content/163607/PDF/POZN271_197360_biotechnologia-1992-no2-gotowczyc.pdf}, keywords={biotechnology}, }
