Status lacunaris. Haemorrhagia subarachnoidea- lis. Arteriosclerosis gradu minoris. Arterialosclerosis gradu minoris. Oedema et hyperaemia cerebri. Hydrocephalus internus. Subependymonia cornu posterioris ventriculi lateralis sin. Autopsy examination of 8-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with H-E, cresyl-violet, orcein, Holzer, Heidenhain and Van Gieson's method.The examined biopsy lacked the specimens of a focus of hemorrhagic necrosis in the cerebellum and large vessels, which were the primary lesions described in the autopsy protocol. In the cerebral hemispheres, there was status lacunaris of the basal nuclei and spongiosis of the surrounding tissue, as well as foci of spongiosis in the cortex and white matter of the central, parietal, ammonal, and occipital regions. The lesions described reached the ventricular wall without crossing the ependymal glia layer. The lining was fibrotic in large areas and flattened in preserved parts. There was no macrophage reaction, whereas fibrous gliosis and gemistocytic reaction of astrocytes were evident in the basal nuclei. Besides, moderate loss of neural cellular elements, most prominent in the frontal cortex, as well as gliosis, edema and congestion were observed throughout the brain. There was extravasated blood in the subarachnoid space. Cellular and fibrous reaction in the soft meninges was prominent..}, title={File of histopathological evaluation of nervous system diseases (1965) - nr 34/65}, type={Text}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl/Content/197042/PDF/34_65.pdf}, keywords={Vascular disaeses - encephalomacia rubra}, }
