Autopsy examination of 64-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and Van Gieson's method.A specimen taken from the malcia focus revealed necrosis destroying the white matter and cortex, with a partially preserved fine layer. The focus was in an advanced stage of organization. In the central part, remnants of disintegrating tissue, macrophages and a dense capillary network, rich in collagen fibers, were visible. Besides, numerous smaller foci forming post infarct cavities, perivascular sinuses, and old glial scars were observed in the white matter. Nerve cells in the cortex showed features of fatty degeneration and chronic disease. Lymphocytic cells, sometimes macrophages, were present in the vicinity of the focus of malacia, next to highly atherosclerotic vessels..}, title={File of histopathological evaluation of nervous system diseases (1965) - nr 92/65}, type={Text}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl/Content/197146/PDF/92_65.pdf}, keywords={Vascular diseases - encephalomalacia inveterata}, }
