 abstract={The author of the article analyses the causes of the 1919–20 Polish-Soviet War outbreak and its far-reaching consequences for Poland, Soviet Russia (later the Soviet Union), and Europe. He advances a thesis on the complementary meaning of the Treaty of Riga to the Treaty of Versailles. The author uses the term ‘Versailles-Riga order’, which existed in inter-war Europe and was finally overthrown in 1939 after German and Soviet aggression against Poland.},
