 abstract={The article examines the problem of the abolition of martial law in the Kingdom of Poland. Unlike the one-time and unambiguous-sounding act announcing the introduction of martial law, its cancellation and annulment were not officially announced. It took place in stages under several detailed decrees and legal regulations issued after 1863, which were treated as a withdrawal from the system of military-police rule. The issue is discussed with many references to the so-called „Taken Lands” (the Russian partition), using official documentation of the central authorities of the Kingdom of Poland stored in Russian archives.},
