 abstract={Wolica is a former village on the border of Ursynów and Wilanów, incorporated to Warsaw in 1951. The au-thor has been doing field research in Wolica for her PhD since 2019. In the article, she describes the behav-ioural, material and linguistic artefacts of Wolica’s folk culture. She also quotes excerpts from ethnographic interviews with residents of the area. The evoked artefacts testifying to Wolica’s folk past have a different meaning today than they did previously. They are a carrier of what had been, linking the past with the pres-ent. They also serve the inhabitants of Wolica for a self-folklorisation that allows the former village to sur-vive.},
