 abstract={In the article I analyze changes in the semantics of an anthropological place, which the Potocki Palace built in the second half of the 19th century in Krzeszowice seems to be. In its physical dimension it exists as a ruin; symbolically, however, it is noticeable in town space. The local community regards it as a historical, relational and identity-shaping point, mainly thanks to positive connotations with the Potocki family. It is possible to indicate a very clear moment when this valuable content was separated from the object, i.e. the palace itself. The turning point for this process was the period of World War II, notably the arrival Hans Frank to Krzeszowice. The General Governor settled in the Potocki residence for the duration of the war, making it his summer residence. It seems that the community of Krzeszowice regards this period with tacit knowledge. Currently, the importance of the place returns to life in the urban space and grows independent from the form, which makes the palace a post-place},
