The study concentrates mainly on the processes of their acculturation in contact not only with locals, but also with Poles, who also settled in large numbers in the area of Banja Luka. Much space is also devoted to the attitude of the Greek Catholic Church authorities towards the issues pertaining to the emigration of their adherents. Due to lack of their own clergy, many Ruthenians converted to Orthodoxy in the first years after arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Both local religious and secular authorities attempted to counteract this situation in consultation with Archbishop Andrey Sheptytsky.}, type={Text}, title={Osadnictwo Rusinów w Bośni i Hercegowinie na przełomie XIX i XX wieku}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl/Content/57609/PDF/WA303_78012_A453-SzDZ-R-50-1_Lis.pdf}, volume={50}, number={1}, journal={Studia z Dziejów Rosji i Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej}, publisher={Wydawnictwo Naukowe "Semper"}, keywords={Ruthenians - 1870-1914, human settlements - Bosnia and Hercegovina - history, Galicia (Poland and Ukraine) - ethnic relations, Austria-Hungary, Poland and the Balkan}, }
