 abstract={In this paper a new alternative interpretation of the Biskupin’s type settlements was proposed. Those settlements are generally recognised as the hillforts. The different interpretation of wooden-earth constructions surrounding the settlements is now proposed here. The Author maintain that they were the hydraulic engineering installations.
