The presumably Benedictine abbey could have been built around the year 1000 and was pulled down before erection of the collegiate church, which started around 1141. After several destructions and reconstructions that took place during the 850 years of existence, the church has recently undergone conservation procedures to allow its further functioning.}, type={Text}, title={The beginnings of the Catholic Church in Łęczyca.
