 abstract={The paper focuses on the underground movement known as the “Orange Alternative” (Polish: “Pomarańczowa Alternatywa”) whose happenings parodied the “permafrost” realities of the People’s Republic of Poland. The activity of this urban “artistic guerrilla” are discussed in the context of Mikhail Bakhtin’s carnival theory.
