The number of young birds raised by a pair in the breeding season is quite considerable (8.70). The reproductive output depends on the number of pairs raising third broods, while the number of young raised from all broods depends on the extent of egg loss which amounts on average to 1/4 of the total number of eggs laid. The total biomass of the population changes during the year by 3-5 fold. In view of the considerable biomass of the population (500 birds per 1 km2) and its seasonal changes Tree Sparrows play a significant part in the energy flow through field ecosystems.}, type={Text}, title={Fecundity, mortality, numbers and biomass dynamics of a population of the Tree Sparrow (Passer m. montanus L.)}, URL={http://rcin.org.pl/Content/70379/PDF/WA058-86219_P2840-T16_Eko-Pol-A-Nr-1.pdf}, volume={16}, number={1}, journal={Ekologia Polska.
