They have shown, for example, that a nonlinearly elastic slab can exhibit nonuniform uniaxial extension solutions, in addition to the classical uniform uniaxial extension solution. In this paper, a slab consisting of a mixture of a nonlinearly elastic solid and an ideal fluid is modelled in the context of mixture theory.
