TY - GEN A1 - [Majchrowski, W.] (photographer) N1 - The photo depicts several dozen people at all ages in various clothes posing in front of greenery. Many members of the group are wearing Cracow regional folk dress. According to the photo owner’s account, it depicts a harvest festival in Grębocin, her mother’s small home village. She knows from her mother’s recollections that the photo depicts the majority of Grębocin’s inhabitants as well as residents of neighbouring villages, sołtys [a mayor - a village representative], and a teacher, including her grandparents (Maryjanna and Kacper…) and mother wearing the Cracow folk dress. The photo was taken by W. Majchrowski (a photographer in New Brzesk) N1 - 1939, August the 13th, Grębocin N1 - The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
