Experimental portal hypertension and ascites following partial stricture ofthe common bile duct

The changes were observed mostly in the 13th week after the operation. The increase of the portal pressure, development of the abdominal collateral circulation and ascites were the characteristic signs. The authors suggest the method of partial constriction of the common bile duct as a model for studies on portal hypertension.
