Abstract:

Present experience of the Hammersmith Hospital with operative treatment of the aneurysms of the abdominal aorta, was presented. A simplified operative procedure — namely without removal of the aneurysm walls — is applied in this surgical center. Owing to this simplified technique — operative difficulties are diminished, the operation time is shortened, favourable conditions for avoidance of complications (injuries to great veins and lymphatic cisternae) are created, and if the aneurysm breaks — instant intervention is facilitated.
