Abstract:

The authors followed the behawior of venous „patch” sewed in in to the defect of arterial wall. Arteriography and histological examinations were performered with this view. It was confirmed, that sewing in of the venous „patch” lastingly pre¬vented development of the stenosis in the site of the arterial wall suture. The patch subjected to fibrosis within 4 weeks, at which it became covered — from the side of arterial lumen—with a cellunar layer, looking like vascular endothelium. Aneurysm development in the site of sewed-in patch was never noted.
