Description:

The photo shows a family in a garden. In a summer landscape a woman and a man are sitting at a little table covered with an embroidered cloth and between them three children are standing: a girl and two boys. All are festively dressed, and the woman and the girl are wearing strings of beads on their necks. A vase with flowers stands on the table, the blooming garden is visible in a background. Apparent from the description of the owner of the photo it shows a wealthy family (…) - farmers on 25 morgas (equivalent of over 100 hectares) in Wieprz Village; approximately 1930-1935 ; Ca. 1930-1935 ; The photo sent to the contest “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly „Nowa Wieś” (New village). The copy of the photo in the possession of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute of the History of Material Culture).
