Abstract:

A patient with metabolic myopathy was examined.Muscle fibers with preserved sarcomeres were visible, however, damage and abnormalities withinthe mitochondria (partial lack of mitochondrial cristae, blurred cristae structure, light mitochondrialmatrix) were observed. This may be the result of a mitochondrial defect or improper preparation ofthe biopsy material.
