The photo depicts a group of men posing for the picture against a background of a brick building. Some of them are dressed in fire-brigades-uniform. There are also musicians with instruments (fire-brigade orchestra?). There is an inscription on the back of the photo: “The Fire Brigade Ludwików district Ostrów Wielkopolski, 1935” (some errors in Polish original); 1935, Ludwików Village, Ostrów Wielkopolski district ; The photo sent to the contest “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly „Nowa Wieś” (New village). The copy of the photo in the possession of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute of the History of Material Culture)
