Description:

The photo depicts eight young men - the groomsmen. All are festively dressed with ornaments in buttonholes and in hats. The photo was taken in the photographical studio of Karol Weiss in Opole. There is an inscription on the back side of the photo, a kind of short questionnaire-like description: “1. The photo taken in 1928 2. The photo of the groomsmen 3. The wedding 4. Karol Weiss 5. Chróścice Village, Opole district 6. Miscellaneous”; 1928; Chróścice Village, Opole district ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
