Description:

The photo depicts two young people taking rest during a harvest, leaning against a stock of 15 sheaves. In the distance there are some more sheaves of reaped and tied grains. At the bottom of the photo there is a typed inscription saying: “Taking rest by the stock of 15 sheaves of rye after harvest work. The photo taken in 1947. Sitting are the married couple Władysław [Ladislas] and Helena [Helene] (…) in the field of her mother Franciszka [Francis] (…). The photo taken by an amateur photographer /name unknown/ in the filed in the village and the former commune of Grzymkowice, Skierniewice district.” ; Summer of 1947, Grzymkowice, Łódź voivodeship ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
