The photo depicts two young people. A woman in a dress with a white lace collar and in high boots is holding gloves in one hand. Holding her arm is a tall, strapping man in riding breeches. According to the photo owner’s account, these are Apolonia and Franciszek [Francis] (…). The photo was sent to her grandfather Feliks [Felix] (…) to Germany, where he was taken to perform forced labour [?]. At the back of the photo there is an inscription [with some spelling mistakes] saying: “A everlasting keepsake for our beloved brother and brother-in-law, from brother-in-law Franek and sister Polka”. The another inscription made with a different handwriting says: “from my stay in captivity in Germany” ; 1938, Rypin or Kretki Małe ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
