Description:

The photo taken in a photographic studio depicts a young couple standing in their wedding clothes: the woman is wearing a white dress and a veil and is holding a flower bouquet; the man is wearing a suit, a white bowtie and gloves. According to the photo owner’s account, these are Maria née (…) with her husband. She came from the village of Wieczyn near Pleszew and left for France to work in 1929. The photo was taken in France ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
