Description:

The photo depicts a young couple on their wedding day. The woman in a veil is holding a flower bouquet; the man is wearing a suit with a white bowtie and gloves. They are standing in front of wooden buildings. According to the photo owner’s account, this is the wedding of Antonina (…) and Franciszek (…) in 1934 in the village of Godziesze (Kalisz voivodeship). The photo was taken next to the wooden house in which the bride was born and used to live. In 1934 the newlyweds came to live in the manor in Przystajnia (Kalisz voivodeship) ; 1934, Godziesze, voiv. kaliskie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
