Description:

The photo depicts a young couple with a family and a wedding band. There are the newlyweds sitting in the middle: a woman in a white dress, a hat and with a flower bouquet, a man in a suit decorated with a wedding rosette. They are surrounded by a large group of people – a family and friends. Sitting in front of them there are members of the wedding band with their musical instruments. Everyone is wearing festive clothes. The photo was taken outdoors. According to the photo owner’s account, it was taken by the local photographer in 1939 in the village of Pruchnik, Jarosław district, Przemyśl voivodeship ; 1939, May, Pruchnik, Jarosław district ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
