Abstract:
Nowadays, emporionyms, the aim of which is to support a commercial success, are becoming increasinglypopular. In the process of their formation appellative names of places are used and they are meantto stir emotions and arouse interest in objects they denote. The discussed nomina loci transferred to thecategory of proper names are treated as comprehensible, clear semantic and structural neologisms. Theyare also perceived as interesting names because they belong to a category that is used rarely in everydaycommunication. All that affects their pragmatic and communication potential that is priceless in themarket struggle for the customer.
