Abstract:

W opinii ekspertów OECD wyrażanej w wielu publikacjach tej organizacji biotechnologia uznawana jest za jedną z „sił napędowych” gospodarki światowej w najbliższych latach (obok informatyki, telekomunikacji, czy też nowych materiałów i źródeł energii). OECD uważa, że biotechnologia ma zasadnicze znaczenie dla rozwoju gospodarczego, natomiast nie stanowi zagrożenia dla człowieka i środowiska. Natomiast konieczna jest legislacja, nadzór i kontrola, tak jak w przypadku każdej innowacyjnej technologii.
