Abstract:The article discusses the issue of the implementation of the top-secret “R” Oper-ation in the Katowice Voivodeship in the 1950s. On the basis of the analysis of archival materials, there are presented the methods and means used by the authorities to pull away young people from the Church and participation in retreats.This problem shown in the context of the whole spectrum of activities undertaken by the communists to secularise education and remove religion from schools as a subject of teaching.
