p. 257-271 ; Summary in English.
In 1948, the Russians took action that would allow them to influence the IOC. They wanted to achieve this through members of this organization from satellite countries. Therefore, the authorities of these countries tried to put trusted persons in the IOC. This task proved challenging to accomplish because Jerzy Loth and Ferenc Mező informed the IOC about the activities of the communists. Thanks to this, the IOC president and chancellor, despite weak organizational capabilities, resisted the USSR authorities and delayed the implementation of the communist goal.
