The photo depicts a large group of people, children and adults, festively dressed and soldiers in ceremonial parade uniforms, and altar boys with a cross. In the middle of the photo there is a table covered with a white and red cloth and girls in gala dress standing on attention. There is a large brick building in the background. According to its owner, the photo depicts the putting into service of the Elementary School in the village of Ćwiklice near Pszczyna. On this occasion local residents donated four rifles to the army. Standing next to the table there is a school delegation and standing on the right is the photo owner’s father, who at the time was 13 years old. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the town of Pszczyna municipal authorities, the Church and army representatives, teachers and numerous local residents. The photo was taken while the national anthem was played, after the rifles were donated to the army by the school delegation. This was a very festive day for the village inhabitants ; 1938, Ćwiklice near Pszczyna ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
