Muscle segment examination in light and electron microscopy

Abstract:

A skeletal muscle biopsy from 38-year-old patient with cardiomyopathy was examined.Electron microscopy analysisrevealed unchanged architecture of miofibrils and preserved sarcomersstructure. Fat droplets and deposits of lipofuscin were observed submembranously. Few atypical mitochondria were observed in some myocytes.
