Muscle segment examination in electron microscopy

Cell nucleus - structure ; Muscle cells ; Nucleopathy

Abstract:

Electronmicroscopy analysis of the biopsy revealed some fibers of the correct diameter, preserved myofibrilsstructure and normal, located under the sarcolemma nuclei. In addition to fibers of normal diameter and preserved sarcomere structure, muscle fibers of myotube-likemorphology, characterized by small diameter and centrally located nucleus, or row of nuclei(depending on the cross-section) were observed. In both types of fibers, an abnormal structure of cell nuclei, characterized by folding of the nuclearenvelope and excessive concentration of chromatin was observed.Microscopic image of the biopsy suggests congenital fiber-type disproportion (CFTS) andabnormalities in nuclei may suggest nucleopathy.
