Description:

The photo depicts a started building site of some structure built with stones and bricks, with scaffoldings. A woman, two men and a dog are sitting on the grass in front of the building and there are four men standing behind them. They are festively dressed. Judging by its specific architecture, the building is most probably not a house. There is an inscription at the back saying: “The Building Committee…” (the rest is illegible, it can only be recognised that it contains a list of names – most probably of people depicted in the photo) ; 1938 August, Gać, distict Przeworsk, voiv. podkarpackie ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
