Abstract:

The ability of human and animal immunological system to generate manyhundreds of millions of antibodies with different variable-region domains allows to bind other proteins, peptides and low molecular weight haptens despite the enormous variety of chemical and physical structures that these entities can represent. The prediction of Paul Ehrlich in 1900 an age of ā€˛magic bullet applications in human therapeutics is now being realized.
