The photo depicts a young woman and a young man in festive clothes posing for the photo next to a small round table with a flower bouquet on top of it. The woman is dressed in a regional costume – a black blouse with a band collar and puffed sleeves and a dark long skirt with a white apron. She is wearing a flower garland (a myrtle?) in her hair. The man is dressed in a black suit, he has a white bow with a small twig (a myrtle?) pinned to the lapel of his jacket. He is holding a black velvet hat and white gloves in his hand. According to the photo’s owner, it depicts the newlyweds Emanuel (...) – aged 26 and Marta (...) – aged 20 on their wedding day on 6.10.1930 in the village of Kokoszyce (Pszów commune, Rybnik district, Katowice voivodeship). The marriage was solemnized in the parish church of the Holy Virgin Mary in Pszów. The newlyweds are dressed in typical wedding clothes – which were fashionable in the villages of Rybnik district in the 1920s and 1930s. The photo was taken in the “Bernadelli” Photographic Studio in Rydułtowy (Rybnik district) ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
