Abstract:

In this paper, the influence of usage of the different color models on color image segmentation, is analyzed. A cellular neural network for removing noise and image segmentation of color aerial photographs were applied. Three color models were included and compared: RGB, HSV and HSL. In resulting images some objects like houses, roads, trees and others are distinguished. The selection of the objects is based on the color value. It has been shown that the choice of color model influences the results.
